Barbara has trained beginning students as well as college and professional athletes, including University of Alabama and Auburn University football players as well as NFL players.
“I have a fabulous husband , who is actually a Pilates Reformer client of mine! We have three awesome children. They too are Reformer “junkies” along with our Jack Russell, who is not a reformer client, but he does do a “down dog” every morning! I love the Pilates Reformer and can’t wait to show my clients its benefits!” ~ Barbara Esdale
Her nursing training has been instrumental in understanding how the body works, in assessing a client’s physical needs and limitations, and in training a client to use proper form for injury prevention or rehabilitation. She also worked for four years in an operating room and twelve years in the pharmaceutical industry.
Barbara has a strong background in gymnastics, cheer leading and dance and began competitive gymnastics and dance in the first grade. In the fifth grade, she began choreographing dances for talent shows and school performances and continues to enjoy choreography in fitness routines. She performed gymnastics and dance throughout Romania and Poland with Friendship Ambassadors and was a former principal dancer for the Roanoke Ballet Theater in Virginia.
